In 2014, I co-founded 360 Supervision with Cathy Davey, a psychotherapist, to design and deliver a Diploma in Supervision for Sign Language Interpreters. I trained as a supervisor with therapists and was struck by how much the knowledge and skills they gained during their core training provided them with the skill set necessary for the role of a supervisor. My motivation for developing a bespoke Diploma in Supervision for Sign Language Interpreters was to provide training that included skills vital to the supervisor’s role that are not typically part of interpreter training.

Cathy has now left the team and we have been joined by Kate McAndrew and Omoyele Davey who will deliver the Diploma in Supervision along with an expanding team of visiting tutors. The course is now open to allied practitioners such as spoken language interpeters, lip speakers, CSWs, speech and language therapists.

The course is run bi-annually and our next course starts September 2023.
