I co-founded 360 Supervision with Cathy Davey, a Psychotherapist, to design and deliver a Diploma in Supervision for Sign Language Interpreters.I trained as a Supervisor with therapists and was struck by how much the knowledge and skills they gained during their core training provided them with the skill set necessary in the role as a Supervisor. My motivation for developing a bespoke Diploma in Supervision for Sign Language Interpreters was to deliver training that included skills vital to the role of a supervisor that are not part of our interpreter training.

We run the course bi-annually and will soon be accepting applications for the September 2020 intake.

The CPD workshops we offer through 360 evolved out of discussions between Cathy and I and combine our respective knowledge, experience and skills to deliver training that primarily focuses primarily on interpersonal communication and patterns of thinking, feeling and behavior that can impact on the both the practitioner and the dynamics of the interpreting situation.

The workshops we currently offer through 360 Supervision are:

  • An introduction to Transactional analysis
  • Professional boundaries
  • Transference and Projection
  • Stress, Burnout and vicarious trauma
  • Taster day on supervision
